How to Stop Dog From Barking
Nobody wants their dog to bark when it is not the right timing to do so. If your dog is barking because it is already late and some strangers are behaving suspiciously, then it is probably alright for your dog to bark. However, you do not want your dog to be constantly barking for no valid reasons. This is only going to irritate you. If you are a dog owner, it is your responsibility to ensure that you train your dog not to bark at the inappropriate moment.
Barking is one of the most common complaints that dog owners have, but you should know that there are many great ways for you to stop dog from barking.
Practice Leaving Home
One main reason why people need to stop their dogs from barking is because their dogs will tend to bark whenever the owners leave the house. If you are also facing this situation, then you may want to practice leaving your house. Just say bye to your dog. However, don’t make it such a huge and dramatic event.
If you do this, you are just going to be giving them reason to start barking, so you just want to give them a quick kiss or wave goodbye before you leave. Now if you want to stop dog from barking, once you pretend to leave and are standing outside the front door, if you hear the dog barking you want to give them a minute and then open the door up and tell them no very sternly.
While You Are Away, Give Them Something They Can Play With
In order to stop your dog from barking, you can try to give them something while you are away. It can be a bone or a play toy. As long as your dog has something he can play with while you are not around, then they are more unlikely to become bored and begin barking.
These are both great tips if your dog has a problem barking, but if you need to stop dog from barking there are lots of other things that you can do as well. Some dogs will catch on right away and will stop barking as soon as you start training them to but others are going to take some time. Just make sure that you have patience and that you are very stern with them so that they know you mean business here because they need to know that you are in charge.
