Can animals talk? Can they really communicate with us? I often wondered about this myself. I grew up surrounded by animals and have always felt a really close bond with them, but to talk to them? A dog with a biting problem is by far a pet owners worst nightmare. Weve all seen horror stories on the evening news about Pitt Bulls, Rottweilers, along with other breeds both large and small viscously attacking, postal carriers, children and other neighborhood pets. This is of course, the worst case scenario, but unfortunately dog biting does happen on occasion. This alone should be motivation enough for the responsible pet owner to make sure they stop a biting problem before it happens.

The Mastiff dog has a long history; these dogs have been domesticated for more than two thousand years. The Romans bred the ancestors of modern Mastiff dog breeds for use as guard dogs and hunting dogs and in brought these dogs to the British Isles in the 6th century when they conquered Britain. These dogs, already favorites with the Romans (including Julius Caesar, by many accounts) quickly became popular in Britain as well and became the ancestors of the modern English Mastiff. Mastiffs also were part of the war party when Hannibal crossed the Alps and were a favorite of the Kublai Khan, who kept a kennel of thousands of the dogs.

The Bull Terrier or English Terrier is a terrier type of dog that originally came from England. In Africa, this breed is called Varkhond, meaning pig dog. This name was derived from the fact that the Bull Terrier’s head and eyes are similar to a pig. Moreover, this breed was popularly used in hunting bush-pigs and warthogs.
